The holidays are upon us, many families across the country are preparing to celebrate! The holidays are a wonderful time full of gift-giving, great food, and warm family moments. And with that, you’ve hopefully been considering ways to include your best friend in the celebrations.
Here are five fun ways to include your dog in your holiday celebrations:
Opening Gifts
Ask any kid under ten their favorite part of the holiday season and “presents!” will almost always be the answer. Dogs are a lot like kids so why not invite them to join in? They’ll enjoy smelling all the new smells and moving the discarded wrapping paper around, just make sure they don’t make too much of a mess with it.
So wrap a new toy or a special treat up and put it under the tree on Christmas morning. Make sure to wait until then to put it under the tree, as your best friend might get too excited to wait if he can smell something special or familiar included in the gifts.
A Special Holiday Treat
There’s thousands of holiday treat recipes that you can find online. Here’s one for peppermint doggy holiday treats. Molasses, peanut butter, and peppermint are the main flavors in these fun treats. They’re not only tasty for your dog but also can be beneficial in treating stomach issues because of the peppermint extract.
You can also purchase premade treats from local doggy eatery businesses, or online at places like Pupcake Pooch Parties
Binge Watch Holiday Shows/Movies
One of your dogs favorite activities is relaxing, and being close to loved ones. With nearly every channel running specials and holiday movies this time of year, why not cuddle up with a blanket and a good couple of movies. Your dog will thank you, trust me!
