This guy is only 6 months old and already has some pretty big issues. He is really suspicious of new people and will lunge and make contact with his mouth. Beckham was dropped off wearing a muzzle for our safety. After building a bit of a relationship with him we feel he is comfortable enough with us to work without one.
Muzzle conditioning/training is great. It ensures that everyone can remain safe. If the dog makes a mistake and reacts then we can address the reaction through training… instead of stopping everything because someone was injured. The muzzle is not a bad thing and is really useful in situations like this!
